Introduction of the lecturer
Design Thinking is focused on user-centric problem solving, making ideas and solutions useful for actual end-users. Designing thinking practitioners help companies identify their consumers’ pain points, spot business gaps / opportunities, and improve on their products and services, so that these companies can continue to stay relevant and innovative. This change in business mind-set, from being completely business or product driven to usercentricity, allows companies to rethink their business models and start focusing on the needs and requirements of the end-users of their products and services. This mind-set and group of skills are also the same set required by entrepreneurs to spot business opportunities and or gaps, develop ideas and solutions to meet the needs of their target audiences.

Lecturers’s Profile
Mr Tan Jit Hong，Samuel:
Prior to joining MINDEF, Samuel worked with children with special needs as an educational-behavioural therapist. His experiences with Autistic, and Down Syndrome kids have strengthened his belief that every child is special and unique individual who does wonders and performs miracles.
Samuel loves everything Design Thinking. He has been teaching and developing learning materials in Design Thinking courses and other Innovation and Enterprise programmes since 2007. He had also led a team of 30 lecturers in running a hackathon through Design Thinking. He also runs corporate Design Thinking courses for adults. He also consults and give talks to governmental agencies, private corporations (MNCs & SMEs), institutions and NGOs. He has vast interests and experiences in the fields of Innovation and Psychology. During his stint at the Ministry of Defence, he consulted senior management leaders on change management and transformation, particularly on the set-up of an innovative culture within organisations.

Bachelor of Arts (Psychology), National University of Singapore, Certified LUMA Practitioner, Executive Entrepreneurship Programme for Entrepreneurship Educators, Babson College, Advance Certificate in Training & Assessment Certified NLP Master Practitioner.
Professional Memberships:Associate Adult Educator, Adult Education Professionalisation (AEP), Institute of Adult Learning.

Professional Qualifications:
Bachelor of Arts (Mathematics and Economics), National University of Singapore, Post graduate diploma in Education, National Institute of Education, Advance Certificate in Training & Assessment Certified NLP Practitioner
Profile/Areas of Interest:
Su Kit has been teaching and developing Mathematics modules both in secondary and polytechnic levels since 2005. One of the modules that he taught was Mathematics for Engineers. He is currently training students in the area of Design Thinking and is also engaged in training corporate clients in Data Analytics.
